Annual Open House

Our biggest event of the year, typically the last Saturday in April, gives us the pleasure of welcoming the public on-site and offering free sailboat rides to adults and children. This is a chance to participate shoulder-to-shoulder across fleets as we do our spring cleaning and turn the peninsula into an urban "country fair," that includes BBQ, children's crafts and live demo's. Many members are able to meet the bulk of their volunteer hour requirement simply by staffing open house.

Tuesday Night Windsurfing Practice and Racing

Tuesday nights are the perfect night for newer windsurfers who have completed a class to come out and practice their skills.  Practice windsurfing nights run every Tuesday from May through September. Experienced windsurfers will be available to help get you on the water. If there's enough interest, buoys will be set out for fun racing.  Come out and windsurf or just cheer the rest of us on.  There is no cost to members for attending the Tuesday Night Windsurfing Practice and Racing, but please RSVP at the event listing on the calendar.

Wednesday Night Sailboat Practice

Wednesday Night Sailboat Practice is a drop-in clinic to work on your sailing skills under supervision of a volunteer coach. You can work on those skills you would like to sharpen up on and ask question you have. Gates open at 5:00pm for rigging and we hit the water around 6:00pm. Sailing for one to two hours and then a debrief while derigging afterwards. Please RSVP so the coach has an idea how many will attend.

Friday Night Family Sailing

If you’re lucky enough to be hanging around the club on Friday nights, you might find a relaxed gathering of parents and kids, picnicking and cruising both the land and water.

Monthly BBQ and Fun Sail Day

Not all events are race-oriented at Lake Washington! On one Sunday every month, we get together to sail, work on our boats, and enjoy a meal with each other. The sailing agenda is “Whatever you want to do.” The barbeques are fired up about noon, and stay hot all afternoon, so you can come to the Club anytime during the day and enjoy the wind, water, food and your friends.

The barbeque/sail days are usually hosted by one of our fleets. The day is very casual and we need people to open and close, get the safety boat out, and light and put away the barbeques.
